We capture highly impactful, well-established body measurements to help individuals learn key insights about their well-being. We utilize the science of behavior change to help motivate individuals in the direction of wellness, and make it easy through individualized, lifestyle-based action plans.

Our Story

When I was 18 years old, I found myself living in poor health recovering from a severe sports injury and highly invasive Surgery. In my journey towards wellness, I tried various traditional and alternative health therapies. However, I was frustrated that there was no easy way to track my progress to see the benefits. I started measuring all that I could about my body including Heart Rate Variability, physical activity, blood, and even genetics, including my microbiome. This was my first N=1 experiment on myself. However, once enrolling in my Master’s in Public Health Program at the University of California, San Diego, I realized the one data I had missed was anthropometric body measurements, which until now was often inaccurate and time-consuming. Spiral was born out of a human need for easy to capture, high-value data.

Our Approach

In order to engage individuals in their health, we believe they should have easy access to their body data. We believe that relevant and contextualized education and self-monitoring tools are keys to successful positive lifestyle and behavior change. We believe the body should be viewed as a whole, rather than a collection of parts.
